Lecture
WEBS OF INTRIGUE- THINKING WITH YOUR HANDS

Ruth is designer, writer, textiles teacher and fibre artist based in Cumbria. Her work has been internatioanlly exhibited in numerous galleries. Initially designing for the commercial knitwear market, she has taken her knitting beyond the traditional context into an experimental realm which explores concepts such as growth, decay and time passing. Her lecture will look at her evolution from knitted textile designer to a fibre artist who knits (sometimes).

Books include: Knitting Beautiful Boas & Scarves (GMC 2005) and Contemporary Knitting for Textile Artists (Batsford 2007)
